Installation, integration and setup of audio, audio/video and workstation systems
Acoustic Fidelity provides applied system design, integration, installation, configuration, commissioning and support for audio, audio/video, technical workstation and computer systems intended for professional, institutional and specialist applications.
The work is not limited to the supply or aggregation of equipment. Each project begins with the definition of the required functions, operating conditions, interfaces, environmental constraints and performance requirements of the system as a whole.
The objective is to establish a technically coherent, reliable and verifiable configuration in which components, connections, infrastructure, environment and operating methods remain mutually compatible.
Within audio and audio/video systems, installation is treated as an integral part of system behaviour: geometry, interfacing, power supply, cabling, configuration, load, equipment placement and the acoustic or spatial conditions of the environment can materially affect the final acoustic result.
Technical definition of the system
Before installation, the following are assessed as applicable to the project:
- purpose and operating context
- characteristics of the environment
- requirements for level, coverage, resolution and intelligibility
- number and type of sources and destinations
- analogue, digital, network and control interfaces
- electrical and functional compatibility between devices
- power-supply and distribution requirements
- signal paths and cabling
- mechanical, logistical and installation constraints
- expected operating conditions
- maintenance, accessibility and operational-continuity requirements
The configuration is defined in relation to the actual context rather than through the automatic application of a predetermined scheme.
Where an existing system is involved, the assessment also covers the equipment already present, usable interfaces, operating criticalities and the elements that can be retained without compromising the technical objectives of the project.
Professional audio and audio/video systems
Acoustic Fidelity designs, integrates, installs and configures audio and audio/video systems for professional, institutional and dedicated environments.
Depending on project requirements, applications may include:
- audio systems for meeting rooms, conference rooms, council chambers and congress facilities
- microphone systems and sound-reinforcement systems
- audio systems for theatres, auditoria, schools, sports halls, venues and spaces intended for collective use
- high-resolution audio/video systems for domestic environments
- computer-controlled UHD-HDR projection systems
- stereophonic and multichannel audio configurations
- Home Cinema and Home Theatre systems where appropriate to the installation context
Equipment selection is not treated as an end in itself. It must be consistent with the environment, operating distance, coverage, level, intelligibility, resolution, reliability and system-management requirements.
Where relevant, particular attention is given to the relationship between loudspeaker-system behaviour, installation geometry and the acoustic conditions of the environment.
Installation and commissioning
Depending on the project, the installation phase includes:
- physical placement and integration of equipment
- organisation of connections and signal paths
- interface configuration
- verification of correct power supply
- configuration of control devices and operating functions
- verification of compatibility between sources, electronics, loudspeaker systems and loads
- verification of correct operation of the complete system
- commissioning and verification of the intended operating conditions
A configuration is regarded as technically complete when its different sections operate in a coordinated manner, interfaces are correctly defined and the system can perform its intended functions within operating conditions consistent with the project.
Acoustic Fidelity has developed specific experience in the installation, configuration and setup of Bose systems for multi-room domestic applications and professional applications. The work is provided as an independent technical service and not in the capacity of an official, authorised or accredited Bose installer.

Audio setup and environmental conditions
In audio systems, setup is not treated as an accessory or purely subjective stage.
Loudspeaker placement, geometry relative to the listening area or reference listening position, symmetry, orientation, distances, interaction with surfaces and the balance between direct sound and environmental contributions all contribute to the overall acoustic result.
Setup is therefore intended to place the system within the operating conditions defined by the project and to verify that the environment and installation do not introduce dominant limitations or conditions incompatible with the intended use.
Where the system is intended for stereophonic reproduction, particular attention is given to the geometric coherence of the two channels, listening position, symmetry of boundary conditions and stability of the spatial representation.
Within the 'AURORA' technical-scientific framework, installation and setup are essential conditions for a meaningful assessment of chain behaviour. A device or configuration cannot be evaluated independently of the actual conditions in which it operates.
Audio and audio/video workstations
Acoustic Fidelity configures, installs and supports dedicated technical workstations for, as applicable:
- audio recording
- audio editing and assembly
- audio/video editing and post-production
- digital-flow and archive management
- specialist technical applications
Workstation configuration is defined in relation to operational load, required interfaces, peripherals, storage requirements, system stability and continuity of work.
Hardware and software are therefore treated as parts of a single operating platform. High nominal performance is not considered a sufficient criterion unless accompanied by compatibility, reliability, correct configuration and predictable behaviour under actual operating conditions.
Computer systems for professional activities
Acoustic Fidelity also installs, configures and supports computer systems for companies, offices and professional practices.
The work may include:
- definition of the hardware configuration
- installation and configuration of the operating system
- peripheral integration
- provisioning of storage resources
- verification of system stability
- configuration consistent with the intended operational applications
Here too, the guiding criterion is compatibility between actual requirements, available resources, reliability and technical sustainability over time, avoiding configurations that are oversized or unnecessarily complex for the required function.
Technical support for installed systems
Installation may be accompanied by technical support intended to maintain the correct configuration and functionality of the system.
Support may include:
- verification and reconfiguration of audio and audio/video workstations
- diagnosis of startup problems or instability
- hardware and software configuration
- verification of peripheral and interface operation
- restoration of the operating configuration
- support relating to system-integration conditions

Method
Each intervention is structured according to technical compatibility, system coherence, operational reliability and correct dimensioning of the required performance.
Assessment is not limited to the nominal specifications of individual components, but considers:
- behaviour of the system as a whole
- interactions between sections
- environmental and installation conditions
- requirements of real-world use
- stability and operational continuity
- technical accessibility and maintainability
- operating margins relative to the intended conditions
Where several technically suitable solutions are available, preference is given to the configuration most coherent with the required function, without introducing complexity that provides no demonstrable benefit.
Relationship with the 'AURORA' technical-scientific framework
Within stereophonic audio reproduction, installation and setup retain methodological continuity with the 'AURORA' technical-scientific framework.
The system is treated as an integrated chain in which sources, electronics, interconnections, loudspeaker systems, power supply, geometry and environment can interact and contribute to the final result.
Applied system design and installation are therefore directed towards maintaining defined operating conditions and containing discontinuities introduced by interfaces, incompatibilities, incorrect dimensioning or unsuitable boundary conditions.
This approach does not automatically attribute a performance outcome to a particular configuration; it requires the devices and their integration conditions to remain technically consistent with the criteria of the 'AURORA' technical-scientific framework and with the system-analysis method.
The Theory of Pattern Conservation in Stereophonic Electroacoustic Reproduction provides the theoretical reference for the assessment of stereophonic reproduction within its stated domain of validity. Within that framework, environment, installation, geometry and listening position are conditions that must be controlled for an assessment of the system to be meaningful.
