0. NARRATIVE FORMULATION

“The present response may depend on energy stored under preceding conditions.”

1. DEFINITION

Energy memory does not designate an autonomous physical mechanism. It is a descriptive class that brings together cases in which the present response depends on the preceding energy state, determined by storage and release in electric or magnetic fields, power supplies, materials and structures.

2. POSITION WITHIN THE THEORY*

Memory is not intrinsically negative and does not coincide with a single mechanism. Capacitors, inductors, transformers, dielectrics, magnetic circuits, suspensions and structures possess different state dynamics. It becomes structurally relevant when it introduces asynchronous contributions or variations in gain, phase, noise or recovery that are incompatible with the reference representation. Energy storage within the listening environment instead belongs to the boundary conditions and must be distinguished from the chain’s intrinsic mechanisms.

3. RELATIONSHIPS AND OPERATING CONDITIONS

4. PERCEPTUAL TRANSLATION

Effects may be described as reduced definition, compression, artificial density, tails or a change in character with operating time. Such observations require controlled protocols because expectation and thermal drift may be confounded.

5. MEASUREMENT, EVIDENCE AND LIMITS

The test must define prior history, sequence, rest times, temperature and load. Randomised comparisons and state measurements are necessary to distinguish repeatable history dependence from instability or unrelated variation. A robust perceptual difference without a physical correlate remains evidence of non-equivalence pending characterisation.

6. TRANSLATION WITHIN THE AURORA Electron Devices® TECHNICAL-SCIENTIFIC FRAMEWORK

'AURORA' considers memory and recovery in component selection, power-supply design, energy distribution and mechanical management. The aim is to contain history-dependent contributions within control objectives and operating margins compatible with the intended function.

7. OPERATIONAL SUMMARY

Energy memory = descriptive class of responses dependent on the preceding energy state; each case must be traced to a mechanism, a time scale and defined conditions.
