0. NARRATIVE FORMULATION

“Observing time beyond nominal response, including microstructure, recovery, memory and interaction between stages.”

1. DEFINITION

The advanced temporal domain is an interpretative designation used within the Lexicon to bring together temporal phenomena that require contextual analysis beyond static or steady-state measurements: level dependence, response to complex transients, late energy, clock stability, energy recovery and memory. It does not constitute an additional formal domain of the structural vector beyond those defined in the theory.

2. POSITION WITHIN THE THEORY*

The concept introduces neither a new physical quantity nor a universal hierarchy. Rather, it organises a set of design and experimental questions consistent with the description of the chain as a dynamic system. Each phenomenon must be identified by its own name and measurement method.

The listener may describe the effects as greater immediacy, articulation, stability or naturalness of gesture. Such descriptions guide the investigation, but do not justify postulating a single “correct time” or an unmeasured cause.

The advanced temporal domain requires multi-scale measurements and representative signals. Digital jitter, group delay, mechanical ringing and energy recovery must not be collapsed into a single index: they may produce temporal effects, but arise from different mechanisms.
